Clayton Burrows,
RFT
Portfolio Manager
After graduating from Selkirk College in Southeast BC with a diploma in Forest Resource Technology, Clayton has worked in the Coastal BC natural resource sector since 1995. He couples his work experience with the completion of the Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) requirements as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT #0511). In 2007, Clayton accepted a leadership role with Strategic in the timber development and access side of the company and has excelled as a manager of 10 to 30 office/field personnel for the full phase development of timber for harvest spread over different clients in Coastal BC, with a total harvest development of approximately 1 million cubic meters per year. Clayton provides service to clients in pipelines, forestry, hydro transmission, and mining.
Clayton gravitated to the planning and development side of natural resource management and has specialized in difficult access planning, field review, cost and schedule estimating, and construction oversight as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), Project Manager (PM), Construction Manager (CM), or independent 3rd party oversight. With both practical experience in road construction, supervision of road construction, and extensive, hands-on planning and field implementation experience, Clayton has had opportunities to work in several different areas of the resource sector that require difficult access solutions.
With many industrial experiences such as the 235MW Toba Montrose Hydroelectric Project (access planning and development oversight), Coastal GasLink Project (CGL) Section 8 (access and bridges from Houston to Kitimat through the mountains as project ownership SME as well as a member of the Implementation, Construction Management, and Project Controls Teams), Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) pipeline (access roads upgrade and construction project management in Nisga’a Nation territory), or the KSM Mine – Seabridge Gold (access planning, access construction oversight, Professional of Record (POR), and 3rd party review in the Golden Triangle); Clayton brings a wealth of well-rounded technical experience to the equation of any project advancing in the challenging terrain of BC.
