We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Gibbons as our new Vice President Operations, based in Prince George. With over two decades of experience in civil construction, mining, and engineering consulting, Andrew brings a diverse wealth of expertise and leadership to our team. His background in heavy civil infrastructure, bridge and marine construction, and geotechnical engineering has equipped him with the proficiency to manage complex projects across western Canada.
What was it about Strategic that made you excited to join our team?
“What drew me to Strategic was its reputation for doing meaningful, values-driven work—especially its deep and authentic relationships with First Nations communities. I’ve had the privilege of working in partnership with Indigenous groups throughout my career. Strategic’s mission and approach felt aligned with my own values, and I saw an opportunity to be part of something that’s making a real difference.”

“I really connect with Strategic’s emphasis on stewardship, collaboration, and long-term thinking. The focus on people, whether it’s team members, clients, or communities, really stands out. I’ve always believed the most successful projects come from strong relationships, clear communication, and a deep respect for place. Strategic lives that ethos, and it’s something I’m proud to now be part of.”
What are you most looking forward to contributing or being part of here?
“I’m excited to help grow our presence while supporting the talented teams already doing great work. I’m looking forward to mentoring staff, building operational systems that scale, and contributing to a culture that puts people and purpose first. I’m also excited to play a role in helping our clients successfully develop innovative projects—like wind farms and development and protection of critical infrastructure—and to enhance the West’s production and improvement of our natural resources in a sustainable, forward-thinking way.”
